Your photo library, one surprise at a time¶

Photo Fling deals you one photo at a time from your own library — fully random, or from this day in a past week, month, or year — and lets you flick through: keep it, favourite it, or delete it and move on. Part rediscovery, part spring cleaning. Think of it as a fling through your photos, with permission to fling a few of them out.

Why it exists¶

Most photo libraries are a graveyard of images nobody looks at twice: thousands of good memories buried under near-duplicates, screenshots, and blurry mistakes. "On this day" features resurface a curated few; Photo Fling hands you the whole library one card at a time, so the good ones get seen again and the junk finally gets dealt with.

Swipe, decide, next¶

Every photo gets a fast verdict — navigate, favourite, or delete — by swipe on iPhone and iPad, by keyboard shortcut on the Mac, or from the couch with the Siri Remote on Apple TV. On iPhone, iPad, and Mac, videos play right in place, including ones streamed from iCloud (the Apple TV version sticks to photos for now). Lifetime stats keep score: photos rediscovered, favourites made, photos deleted, and how much disk space the cleanup has saved you.

Built to see nothing else¶

Photo Fling browses your library through Apple's Photos framework and keeps its stats in a local database on your device. Nothing is uploaded anywhere, there are no accounts, no analytics, and no tracking. Deletes go through the system's own confirm-and-Recently-Deleted flow, so nothing vanishes by accident. See the privacy policy — it's short.

Requirements¶

macOS 14 or later, iOS or iPadOS 17 or later, or an Apple TV running tvOS 17 or later. (On the App Store it appears as "Photo Fling: Rediscover".)

Photo Fling is in public beta for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV — join the beta on TestFlight: install Apple's TestFlight app, open the link on your device, and you're flinging. For Apple TV, join from your iPhone or iPad first, then open TestFlight on the Apple TV — Photo Fling will be waiting there.
